Content Marketing in 2010

March 26th, 2010 by WriterAccess

realtimesearchresults2010 saw the beginning of a bigger appeal for content marketing as the three major search engines all began including real time search results from sites such as Twitter and Facebook. When Google and Yahoo began incorporating image and video in the results page in 2007,  the whole worlds of search and search engine marketing were turned upside down as companies scrambled to implement changes to keep up with the new inclusions. The 2010 change, although still major, will not require as big of an adjustment as the 2007 change did.

Content Marketing and News

News results are being given a more prominent role in results as timeliness is incorporated into search engine algorithms. However, a high placement due to timeliness alone will fade quickly. Good content marketing will promote more than just the timely event and include both timely and timeless information.

Content Marketing and Social Media

Using keywords in social media just became much more important. However, companies employing a good keyword research strategy for other website promotion content such as blogs or articles will find that the same keywords can be used in social media to help make their overall strategy more effective.

Content Marketing and Blogs

Content marketing and blogging seem to go hand in hand but it is important that the best tools be used so the blog can reach as many people as possible with every post. There are many blog subscription services and directories as well as services that provide RSS feed buttons for the wide variety of blogging platforms.
