No Blog – No Problem! – 3 Ways to Utilize Content Marketing Without a Blog

January 13th, 2014 by

content marketing servicesContent marketing is the practical use of SEO techniques to increase ranking in search engine results, and it connects you to readers and customers in a clear, friendly way. A blog is the most obvious method of content marketing, and it is a tool that many content marketing services will build for you. While blogs are an excellent way to utilize these marketing strategies, they are not the ONLY way. Consider these three non-blog-based ways that content marketing can be used as part of your overall marketing strategy.

Curate a Link Guide

Think about your industry or area of interest. Chances are, there are a number of resources you use on a regular basis to stay up-to-date with the newest happenings. Develop a guide to useful links on your subject and post this on your website. If you add site descriptions, you have a great space to include keywords and boost your SEO. You are providing a very useful resource for your visitors and can use social media to further publicize this guide.

If you have even basic graphic editor skills, you can build an infographic. These are short, sweet collections of statistics and information presented in a graphic format. According to a 2012 Media Bistro report, Infographics are retweeted on Twitter 832% more than either graphics or texts. This means you will likely get a great return on your time and investment just by building an infographic based around information that is already available on the internet.

Conduct an Interview

While this is easier to do in some businesses than others, if you can land an interview with an industry insider you have easy access to information that will bring in readers. A good interview is newsworthy and may be picked up by larger media outlets, plus the interview may be quoted/attributed by other sources as well which will bring in traffic and build quality backlinks to your page over time.

As you can see, even if you don’t choose to have a blog on your page, there are a number of ways you can utilize content marketing to boost your search engine visibility and the number of visitors that find your page. One reason blogs are so beneficial is that they essentially force you to constantly update your page and add new content. As long as you are doing this in one way or another, you will reap the many benefits of content marketing.
