Promoting Your SEO Content

When you hire an SEO writer to create content for your site, you should also invest some time in promoting that content. Social media is an excellent way to begin, but you also need links to your most important content. You probably don’t need backlinks to all your SEO content, especially if there’s material you’ve had created that could become obsolete a year from now when the latest technology requires a re-write or when the market goes in a different direction.

Getting links to your content isn’t always easy, but it pays off. One way to get links is to pay your SEO team to create a separate set of articles to be posted on third-party sites. This content discusses issues related to the original content, and links to your new SEO content as source material. Another way to get links back is to reach out to bloggers who write about topics in the same area as your content. Offer someone in your company as a potential e-mail interview and have them reference your new content links.

Another way to promote your SEO content is to promote it using sites like Digg.com and StumbleUpon. The key to promoting content here is to make sure what you promote isn’t a blatant sales pitch. The content should be informative, helpful, and relevant to an audience that might not be interested (initially) in visiting your site.

A third way to promote your SEO content is via your e-mail list. Don’t overlook the power of your existing subscribers–people who are interested enough to have signed up for your newsletter may be drawn to your new content, too. Provide a link to it somewhere in the newsletter and pay attention to the traffic statistics. You may be surprised to see that you’ve generated a new wave of interest in your site by bringing your subscribers into your SEO content marketing plan.

  2. Thank you so much for this tip, I’ve spent so much time writing content but never really took the time to promote them other than SEO optimization.
