Effective use of keywords in SEO Articles

Search engine optimization (SEO), along with SEO articles has become “the” buzzword in the world of online marketing and retailing. Upon first glance, the term seems pretty straightforward–the use of key words that will match a search engine database to result in more hits on search engines for your business, and drive traffic to your website. Simple, right? Simple, yes, but not easy to do effectively and gracefully.

Anyone can write copy that will use the same words over and over, which of course will get you to a high SEO percentage. But to write SEO articles that are competent, informative and won’t scare your potential clients away because of the drivel factor, is another thing entirely. The World Wide Web and the Internet are wonderful things, but they have birthed a surprising number of writers. As in Los Angeles or New York, where “everyone is an actor”, it seems now, particularly with Internet content, that everyone is a writer. Just as not all actors or writers are created equal, not all SEO articles are either. Here are a few tips for turning out successful, engaging SEO articles that will make potential customer want to visit your site, instead of run away from it.

Key Word Density

Everyone with an online business knows about key word density. The standard industry target is a key word density of 5-10%-- which means that your key word is mentioned 5-10 times for every 100 words. But to reader of your website or the SEO article intended to drive someone to your site, it can be a bit overwhelming. But keyword density can be elegant! Use of keywords is necessary, but it the words around your keywords that will make your SEO articles pop. You have to use your keyword a certain number of times to achieve your objective, but to do this without being woefully repetitive will really serve to boost your business. Most educated people use the Internet for everyday tasks. Not that your only target is the educated masses, but these are the folks who are likely to pay more attention to a well-written SEO article. I know I can’t stand to look go to a website that isn’t at least passably written (and there are a lot of them out there!) and will steer away from one that is poorly written until I find one where the SEO article is well written and not overly redundant.

Metaphors, Similes, Smiles

Okay, so you’re not going to want to throw a bunch of exclamation points and smiley faces into your SEO articles, but you can use the basic writing tools we all learned in grade school to write effective SEO articles. As simple as it may sound, use of metaphors and similes are a great way to spice up an otherwise potentially dull and lifeless SEO article, and a way to cleverly fit more of your targeted keywords into your SEO articles. The use of examples and metaphors will force you to naturally use your keywords at a higher rate, but in an inherent way because you are describing something, for which you need terms to illustrate your point. It is much more effective and accepted to use your keywords in your SEO articles when you are furthering a specific point. Graceful use of your keywords, as well as strategically placed examples and metaphors will help take your SEO articles to a higher level.
