Writing Successful SEO Articles for Your Website
Your company may have the best designed and most eye-pleasing website on planet cyberspace, but if no one visits it, what's the point? Whether it is a product or service, most people who have an interest in what your company provides perform a search on Google, Bing or Yahoo! in order to find the best website for what they are looking for. Attracting traffic to a website is commonality among every successful website. Having effective SEO articles on your website, will not only drive traffic to your site, but also sales. Here are some ways you can create effective SEO content for your website.
First, put some thought in selecting good keywords. What's a good keyword, you say? The best keywords use language that computer users will likely type in the search engine box when looking for what your company has to offer. Size matters when it comes to keywords because the best keywords--or keyword phases--come in 2 to 4 word phrases. Make sure that your keyword phrase is included in your article title and that it reads like a proper title. Search engines have programs in place and if your words are nonsensical, the search engine will discount it as spam.
If you are serious about improving the performance of your keywords as well as your website rankings, then the Google AdWords Keyword Tool is a must have in your SEO toolbox. This tool helps you to select keywords and keyword phrases for your seo articles that are not only search engine friendly, but also revenue generators. The Google AdWords Keyword Tool will display related keywords, what they are worth per click and their competition. This is a great feature because there may be some related keyword phrases that are search engine friendly that you may not have thought of! Remember, if there is too much competition for your keyword phrase, it won't rank as well. Best of all, the Google AdWords Keyword Tool is free. Of course, there are other analytical keyword tools such as Wordtracker that are not free, but Google's free version does the job just fine.
Not only does size matter in terms of the length of your keyword phrase, but it matters in your article length as well. A good rule of thumb is to keep your website articles rather short in length. SEO articles that are between 400 and 600 words are ideal. Of course, you can have both shorter and longer articles sprinkled into your SEO content, but try to keep the majority within that aforementioned length. Sprinkle the keywords throughout your copy; once in the first 100 words and then every 50 to 100 words is a good rule of thumb. It's also important to regularly update content to your website on a continuous basis. Search engines love websites that have continuously new content, so make sure you're giving them that love. Although content that is trendy and current will bring in initial traffic, evergreen content makes for a strong base.
There are no guarantees that your website will land a high position on a major search engine, but one thing is for sure, submitting a better website will help. The key is to find keyword phrases that are highly appropriate, popular in searches and that have the least amount of competition. Piece of cake, right?
