WordVision Tools and Resources

Adding Keywords to WordVision

WordVision has several tools that allow you to research keywords related to your domain name. Click on Add Keywords and you'll find all the choices. You can add your own keywords pulled from your log files or PPC campaign research. Simply copy and paste the keywords from an Excel spreadsheet into a big blank box. You can also research another domain name for keywords. Simply enter any domain name, say of your competitor, and the technology instantly finds up to 1000 keywords currently listed at Google for that domain. Finally, you can submit content to our engines and we'll find relevant keywords for you to consider adding to WordVision.

Keyword Strategy the Big Picture

WordVision is a powerful tool that allows writers to find the hot topics for optimization and writing assignments; however, WordVision needs keywords to be loaded into it to come up with the recommendations. We recommend that all clients add up to 5000 keywords to start their WordVision account. We also recommend that you weight about 400 or 500 of those keywords on a scale of 2 to 10, 10 being best. Weighting keywords allows the algorithm to make recommendations based on your personal importance for SEO strategy.

Adding Tags

Tagging keywords enables you to view performance for groups of keywords. Several reports have advanced search functionality, allowing you to view performance for keywords you tag. For example, say you wanted to look at the trend reports for all keywords with a certain tag. First you set up the tag, and then you find those keywords and assign the tag. Click on Trend Report, then Advance Search, select your tag, and you'll see the trend performance for those keywords. Tags overlap as well, so keywords can be assigned to multiple categories.

Adding Keywords

Categories are another way to group your keywords; however, each individual keyword phase can only be assigned to one category. Advanced search allows you to view reports for keywords tagged with categories you assign.

Time-Saving Tips

All of the clients at ideaLaunch who contract our content marketing services put the power of WordVision to work. Our team instructs clients to simply put together an Excel spreadsheet of up to 5000 or even 10000 keywords, all listed in a column. We then ask them to assign weights of 2 to 10 for about 500 of their most important keywords to the second column. Next, clients can assign any special categories or tags they would like to assign to each of the keywords in the third and fourth column. They then send us the spreadsheet and our engineers set up WordVision within 24 hours. WordVision allows you to add an unlimited number of competitors. Each month, we start tracking the Google listing position for all the keywords in your universe so you can see how you compare with organic success. Charts and graphs display the competitive information and it's all stored and saved for future reference and review.

Adding Users

We built WordVision for clients who might have numerous writers creating content at the same time. You can add an unlimited number of writers to the subscription and you also control who gets the administrative privileges of weighting keywords and adding tags and categories. You can also add an unlimited number of administrative subscribers of the toolset as well, allowing them to have full control of the technology.

Researching Keywords

Writers need fast recommendations for keywords to use for SEO. That's exactly what the Keyword Cloud tool offers. Writers simply enter a keyword and WordVision recommends keywords and keyword phrases to pepper into the content that will optimize it for the search engines. Keywords are displayed in a tag cloud with the bigger keywords being the most important to use for SEO. You can also click on each keyword and find the details, history, and links to related keywords and even links to the website that features content related to that keyword phase you searched on. Wow!

Scoring Content for SEO

OK, you've done your keyword research using the tag cloud tool. Now it's time to put your words to the test for search engine optimization strength. WordVision makes it easy. Just copy and paste your content into the box and WordVision will score it and show you how you might improve your scores. You can save your content when it's ready to publish so that WordVision can track its impact and so that you can ask your boss for a raise when your content starts to perform on the web. Cool? Cool.

Title Tags and Meta Keywords

Let's be honest—creating title tags and meta keywords for any content you create for the web is mostly guesswork. WordVision offers a bit of science to this necessity. It's not perfect, but it's better than completely guessing. It's worth experimenting with the recommendations that WordVision offers and modifying things based on your own personal feel for the content and its appeal to the search engines.

Content Scoreboard

Once a writer has scored content and it meets their approval, we suggest that writers post the content on the content scoreboard. By doing so, you alert WordVision to begin tracking the listing positions in the search engines for keywords featured in the content and submitted for tracking by the SEO manager. This is part of one of the main goals of WordVision, which is to measure the impact of the content assets that you deploy on your website—who doesn't want that?

See if it's Working

Once the keywords have been weighted, tagged, and categorized, the heavy lifting is complete and the SEO manager needs only to log on and check on the performance of the keywords and the impact that content assets are having on listing positions. The Welcome Chart is a favorite with clients, as it offers a quick summary of how many keywords are achieving top 100 and top 10 listing positions in the search engines. Our experience and data confirm that continued deployment of content assets on any site greatly increases the number of keywords listed in the search engines, improves the listing positions, and drives more organic traffic to any website.

Trend Reports

WordVision tracks the PPC, search volume, and listing position history for all the keywords added to the toolset. Analyzing the trends for listing positions is simple with WordVision. Trend Reports help pinpoint problems and opportunity and advanced search ability within the Trend Report template allows you to view performance with groups of keywords. All of this means that you can see what's going on and adjust SEO strategy on-the-fly after surveying the data.

See Where You Stand

WordVision allows you to find opportunities to beat the competition or learn what you need to work on to compete. Easily perform content testing while comparing your website's listing positions side-by-side with any competitors you add to the toolset. Once you view the comparisons, you can take action by simply changing the manual weights you assign to certain keywords. By increasing a weight to say 10 for a particular keyword phrase that you want to improve the listing positions for, you trigger the algorithm recommendations for writers for that keyword and help drive SEO strategy.

Page Strength Reports

How well are your pages optimized for the search engines, and how well are they performing? Our proprietary Page Strength Tool grades any landing page for any keyword phrase you enter. It's fast and easy, and our technology stores all the reports for future reference of performance analysis. Grade your pages. Fix your pages. Improve your grades and watch your listing positions in the search engines improve!

It's all About Mindshare

As it turns out, it's peace of mind that people really want when it comes to the guessing game of search engine optimization. That's what our clients tell us—they want their writers to optimize content, know what to write about, and know how to build momentum to fuel organic growth. There’s an art and science to achieving success online these days. WordVision's focus on the writer offers the mindshare clients are looking for and the SEO edge that companies need to get ahead of the pack.
