Nonprofits Going Mobile?
In today’s Web 2.0 world, even nonprofits are finding benefits in using interactive technology. Mobile marketing is proving to offer a way to engage potential donors in a unique way. Some of the techniques you can consider for your own nonprofit include:
Becoming a Resource
The Internet is THE tool of the future for all nonprofits. One great way to boost your exposure online is to link up with likeminded nonprofit resource sites and offer your website as a valuable tool for their visitors. Find websites that are either local or that pertain to your organization (humanitarian efforts in third-world countries, for example) and contact the webmaster to see if you can get listed on their Resources page.
Another way you can boost your presence online is to offer to write articles for these sites. Everyone likes free information, so you can provide useful articles on your area of expertise and include a link to your nonprofit’s website.
Are You Award-Winning?
You think your nonprofit is doing some pretty amazing things. Why not get recognized for it? There are dozens of award programs that recognize nonprofits that go above and beyond. Nominating your nonprofit might result in you winning, which will boost the morale of your hard-working staff and volunteers.
When you nominate your nonprofit, be sure to get a press release out about the nomination, especially if the general public can vote. This could be the PR push you need to get the votes to win. And if you do win, a press release is a great accolade to your success.
