Creating Wireframes

Wireframes are graphical representations of the layout of a website. Generally, they are drawn out on paper, and the layout of a page is represented through the use of squares, rectangles and other basic shapes to illustrate the different portions on a page.
It is important to create wireframe layouts early in the process of designing a website, since they are a quick and easy way to judge how a particular layout will work. Wireframes do not take very much time or effort to develop, and multiple designs and layouts can be tested in a short period of time, leading to quicker site design and increased innovation during the design and creation process.

Wireframes can also be developed on a computer, though this process tends to be more cumbersome than using a pen and paper, which defeats the purpose of creating them in the first place.
