How to Achieve a Smoky Eye
A smoky eye is a great way to achieve a dramatic evening look. The key to this look is using dark and light contrast, and blending colors well. But before attempting this look on your own, it helps to have a few eye makeup tips.
First, prepare the lid by applying an eye shadow base, which is also referred to as a primer. Then, sweep a shimmery shadow over the entire eyelid. After the lighter color has been applied, use a rich dark eye shadow shade to create a smoky effect. Try using Yves Rocher’s eye shadow in Pêché mignon. Use an eye shadow brush to apply the color, starting on your lash line and blending up. Make sure the dark colored shadow doesn’t continue past the crease of the eye. After you’ve applied the shadow, you’re ready to apply eyeliner. Apply a dark black or gray liner to your upper lash line, making the line thicker in the middle. Then use a lighter eyeliner on the bottom lash line and smudge the eyeliner gently with your finger.
