ideaLaunch, a leading provider of content marketing services and solutions, is looking for a Senior Editor with experience recruiting, screening and managing freelance writers. Candidates must have at least two years experience in editorial management and talent management (working with freelance writers). Excellent writing, editing and communication skills are required.

You’ll focus your time on WriterAccess.com, on online marketplace and platform connecting thousands of customers with thousands of writers. You’ll help on-board both writers and customers to the WriterAccess platform. You’ll screen new writers that join the service and help match their talent with customers using the platform and a strategy that you’ll help develop. You’ll also support the community of writers with Live Chat and develop informational and educational guides for writers to help advance their career. And you’ll be editing and reviewing the writers’ work to the customers’ specification and rating writers’ proficiency and skill. Once you’re familiar with our services, software and talent base, you’ll get more involved in the matchmaking process with customers, writers and remote editors with a focus on content strategy and project management.

As for your future and career advancement, that’s important to us as well. You’ll master editorial and talent management, but also acquire the knowledge and skills to do content strategy and project management.

Requirements

  • Practice our customer and talent service policy, which is simple: Patience, positivity and professionalism—with a smile.
  • Super-strong editorial, communication, and management skills backed with at least two years of editorial experience and working with freelance writers. You will be required to jump in on writing and editing content orders, so advanced editorial skills are a must-have!!
  • Related education major (Journalism, English, etc). Be prepared to take our writing and editing test online. About 50 wpm typing speed is a minimum. Blogging will be mandatory.
  • Customer service experience is also required, as you’ll be in constant contact with customers and writers.
  • Community management experience—If you have not managed communities online and worked directly with freelance writers and editors, you probably shouldn’t apply.
  • Really good problem solving skills. It’s critical to workflow that our response be prompt and efficient every time. Our customers and talent expect advanced support when placing and managing and processing orders for content.
  • If Macros in Excel, AP Guidelines and Keyword Silos are mysterious to you, you probably shouldn’t apply.
  • Drive to “get things done”. WriterAccess and ideaLaunch are small companies that cross-pollinate with staff, talent, writers, editors and customers. You’ll be required to wear many hats and roll with the punches.
  • Strength in self-managing time. Because we’re a diverse team, you’ll need to keep yourself on task, make decisions quickly, and work well with the other members of the team.
  • One more thing: you have to be hard-working. This is an 8:30 to 6:00 job that may require evening check-in with customers or online support. Our strategy is very deadline-based, so it’s essential that you put in the time necessary to execute a project—even if that includes some light evening and weekend work remotely.

ideaLaunch, a leading hub for content marketing services and resources based in the North End of Boston, is looking for an innovative Integrated Marketing Communications Manager who can inspire, lead and drive world-class integrated marketing campaigns. The successful candidate must be able to plan and execute integrated campaigns across the entire marketing ecosystem, from the web to social to events and direct mail. We are looking for that special candidate who has strategic insight combined with an ability to roll up your sleeves and execute.

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for the entire lifecycle of online and offline marketing programs for the ideaLaunch and WriterAccess brands including strategy creation, implementation, project management, and program analysis/measurement. This includes web (including SEO and PPC), events, email promotions and newsletters, direct mail, and social media, as well as direct mail, press releases and media relations.

The person in this role must also possess excellent copywriting skills, as they will be responsible for creating much of the copy used for sales and marketing collateral, and campaigns they drive and implement.

Responsibilities

  • Create email marketing and lead nurturing programs to build marketing database and drive inbound marketing.
  • Track and manage communications through every step in the lead funnel
  • Write creative, engaging marketing copy for all marketing channels, including web, email, events, direct mail and social media.
  • Serve as primary writer, editor and quality control point for all marketing communications materials, including management contract writing resources.
  • Identify and execute company participation in key industry tradeshows/conferences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing Communications, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing

Seeking students who can commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week on a predictable schedule.

We are looking for a Freelance Designer and/or Illustrator to help us roll out a new brand look and feel for the WriterAccess.com website. The new design and brand will also extend to various marketing assets including brochures, direct mail, banner ads and more. You'll work with our Creative Director on the execution of campaigns that need final development, particularly support with illustration. Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is a must. We expect this project to last at least several weeks and would prefer an on-site assignment at an hourly rate commensurate of your experience and history.
